Bats and Slugs

May 21, 2011

This was Bridget’s birthday weekend. They dropped her off on Friday evening and we went to Barnes & Noble to get “The Wimpy Kid’s Movie Diary” then shopping for selected food, treats and a new bathing suit. After a dip in the hot tub and some reading it was off to bed with Nana to watch “A Diary of a Wimpy Kid” on the DVR. Saturday we went to the Elmwood Park Zoo is Norristown. We have been there before and it is a very kid friendly zoo. Bridget led us through all the exhibits ending with the bats, which was her quest all along. After a short pony ride we stopped in the nature store for a stuffed bat on our way out. We had lunch and treats at home then a dip in the hot tub before she and Nana headed out for some more grocery shopping and a new pair of shoes. There was a slug on a flap on the spa cover which kept her busy for a while. This morning was a donut breakfast before Bridget and Nana went to see the new "Pirates' movie. And, since the world did not end yesterday, I bought Nana a lawn blower/vacuum/mulcher. She insists on sweeping the helicopters (maple tree seeds) from the driveway and sweeping the deck and this should make it easier for either of us. We finished the kitchen cupboards this week and then went shopping for new Zodiaq counters. We have the order all set up but decided to wait until we get back from Erie in September because of the concern of having them installed before we leave. On Wednesday evening we went to Jeff’s to watch the kids while he and Danielle went to a YMCA benefit dinner.
