We have sold our house so things have been very hectic around here. We received an offer on the first of October. After back-and-forth negotiations, we settled on a deal at a fair price and we had moved the requested closing date back to December. We didn't have a house in AZ and we needed more time. Alesa had already started packing by then. Looking at homes online we found a newly listed one we loved which checked all of the boxes. Jeff and Danielle set up a showing with us on a video call. We all loved it so we made an offer. It was scheduled for an open house in a few days so we had to act fast. They countered and only requested an early closing date. So, back to our buyers who agreed to move the date back up. We close on the FL house on the 13th of November and on the AZ house on the 14th. The home inspection on the FL home had nothing to report while the AZ home had a number of issues. We countered with the items which must be fixed plus the requirement for a home warranty and they agreed. So we were happy. The owner is a woman whose health recently took a turn for the worse and she is being moved to assisted care and the daughter is dealing with the sale. The home is in Trilogy at Power Ranch, a 55+ community next to Jeff's neighborhood. We have golfed their course numerous times and ride our bikes through the neighborhood. This was our first choice for location. Things were running smoothly until we received the HOA report that the home was in violation because it needs painting. We expect it to be resolved but could always back out of the deal because there are a number of houses available in the area, but we do expect to settle on this house. We are very busy deciding and packing since a Pod will be delivered on the 7th of November. We have sold and given away much of our stuff and our buyers have bought a few of our items as well. Jeff and kids will be flying in on the 7th to help load and will head to Miami Beach on the 9th for a visit. They have wanted to go to Miami Beach and thought now would be a good time. Craig and Janet will also be coming up to help. They may also host us all on the night of the 8th since our house should be pretty empty. They will pick up the Pod on the 9th and deliver a second if needed. We hope not. We will drive to AZ on the 15th thru the 18th and the first Pod will be delivered on the 20th. Our neighbors are not happy we are moving and we have spent time visiting and golfing. Still a lot to do for a very bittersweet move.
