Halifax, Nova Scotia

August 9, 2022

Left the house at 8:30 and stopped at the Duty-Free shop before crossing the border. We each bought a bottle of our choice for our time in Canada. The border crossing went smoothly and we had a nice drive through New Brunswick and Nova Scotia before arriving at our hotel in Halifax at 3:30. After check-in and a rest we ate dinner in a nice restaurant in an attached hotel before retiring to our rooms for the night. This morning we met Steve and Laura for breakfast in the hotel and drove to downtown Halifax. We went to the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. It was all about the maritime history of Halifax with a special area for the Titanic and another for the 1917 disastrous explosion of a munitions ship in Halifax harbor which destroyed much of the city. We walked the waterfront boardwalk and had lunch at an Irish Pub. We drove around the city and the 'Citadel' before heading back to the hotel.
