Slowin' Down

August 10, 2011

Things have been quiet and it has cooled off a bit with some rain. The campground is full for the weekend and about a quarter full for the weekdays. Tuesday we rode the bikes out past Peninsula drive and payed our respects to family at the cemeteries. Jeff forwarded a package of mail so we caught up on such things. Early Saturday AM Bob and family left for a wedding and a week of vacation on Topsail island. We rode our bikes up to Frontier Park for the first day of the Jazz and Blues festival then stopped at the zoo to try out our new zoo cards and see if the Red Panda baby was out of the cubbing box. (It wasn't.) Sunday, Mike and Linda Holden drove in from the Philadelphia area. We toured the peninsula and the Tom Ridge center, ate at Joe Roots and they spent the night at the trailer. Monday we rode the trolley around downtown Erie and ate lunch at Valerio's and then they continued on to Chautauqua to spend the rest of the week with the Goodmans. It's Orange Sherbet week at the Whippy Dip.
