St. Augustine

February 17, 2011

We left Brunswick on Tuesday morning and drove the 100 miles to St. Johns RV Park in St. Augustine.  Seems I made reservations at the wrong RV park but, even though they were 'full', they found us a back-in spot in the long-term area, so we are here for three nights.  That evening we went shopping at Publix and Alesa got her long awaited key-lime pie.  On Wednesday we took the trolley tour around town and were able to get on and off as we pleased.  We toured the San Sebastian winery and bought a few bottles after the tasting and then had Philly cheesesteaks downtown at a place run by a Philly native and enjoyed talking with him.  That evening we drove to Ormond Beach to meet with Betsey who just had her knee replaced.  She is doing well and that night we went to dinner at a Tai place with Betsey, Ashley, Jennifer and Ryan.  Today we went back to the trolley and another couple of cheesesteaks.  Early this afternoon Pruners picked us up at the trailer and we went kayaking in Saint Anastasia state park.  We then went to happy hour and dinner at Caps on the water on the intercoastal waterway.  Tomorrow we are having lunch at Jimmy and Mary Hartwells then off to Paul and Carol's where we will spend a few days before heading to Naples early next week.
