Steve and Laura

April 15, 2011

It continues to be busy down here in Florida.  On Saturday Craig flew his plane to and from Lakeland to check on Chuck and Kate's house and in the process was able to accumulate enough hours (50) on his plane to allow it to leave a designated break-in area and carry passengers.  Sadly there was not enough free time left to take any flights so we will have to wait until next year.  He and Janet will be going up tomorrow and it seems only fair that she should be his first passenger.  Steve and Laura Schaefer arrived in Naples on Monday and we spent a few more days at Craig and Janet's.  Tracy also came down on Tuesday for a short visit.  Wednesday we played 18 holes at Naples Beach and Golf Club.  On Thursday we pulled up stakes at Craig and Janet's and moved North with Steve and Laura.  We went about 95 miles north on I-75 to the Royal Coachman Resort near Venice.  We enjoyed the facilities and visited the Tervis factory store in Osprey.  An excellent selection but no cost savings.  Today we came back to Bushnell (between Tampa and Ocala) to be close to Brooksville to go to Weekie Wachie and visit some friends from Maine.  Today we went to the Dade Battlefield State Park and encountered a ranger who really enjoys his job.  Since there were no other visitors we received personal attention in the museum and throughout the grounds leading to a very interesting and informative visit.
