Sedona
When we got to our room we were totally impressed by its size, functionality and views. Sliding glass doors at the back of the room afforded a view of the mountains to the south east and access to a private patio which led to an elevate public area. We napped a bit before heading to dinner. We were in uptown with all the shops so we were in walking distance of everything. We decided on the SaltRock restaurant at the Amara resort because it was down on Oak Creek and wasn’t too touristy. It was a 200 yard walk down a very steep road but it turned out to be well worth it. It was not crowded and the staff was very friendly and informative. They told us we could take a complimentary golf cart ride back up the hill and explained our view of the ‘Snoopy’ mountain which is also the view from our room. We both had drinks and a hearty salad for dinner before walking down to the creek and taking the golf cart ride back up the hill. After walking around the shops a while we returned to our room and settled in for the night. Well most of it because we set and alarm for 3 AM to watch for the meteor shower. Our hopes were dimmed by the fact that it was getting cloudy but we hoped for the best.
