The Browns

March 24, 2026

Jim and Mary Claire Brown are in Arizona with friends for a couple of weeks so we met them for breakfast in Mesa which was between our house and Scottsdale where they are staying. We appreciate them taking the time as they have been pretty busy touring and visiting. We had a great visit and updated each other on family and friends. We also met their travel friends as they picked them up after breakfast. I seem to be out of the habit of picture taking as I have been quite remiss including today. You'll just have to be content seeing their beautiful faces on past posts. Thanks again to Jim and Mary Claire for their visit. I texted our son Mike because this blog has been down for the last few days and he fixed it immediately. He also mentioned that he was in Chicago for a convention and I told him that Jeff was also in Chicago. They will be meeting up this evening. Warms a parent's heart. We had another sign day on Saturday. We were the first of 10 consecutive, non-exit overpasses with signs on this highway. Not sure what the rest said but assume they were signs of fascism (DUH). We got plenty of honks and thumbs-up with only a few middle fingers over the two hours. Now to get ready for 'No Kings' day on Saturday. Been in the pool over the last few days as the heat spell has brought the pool temperature into the 80's. But Alesa won't go in above her knees until it's 85 or above. This boy grew up on Lake Erie and was quite happy when the water temperature at the beaches reached the 70's. The cacti are in bloom in the area and our cacti our very pretty as well. We received an email and a follow-up letter with a friendly reminder from the Trilogy homeowners association that one of our plants (Rosemary) was encroaching on the sidewalk which is against the rules. It's been trimmed rather than face the wrath of the powers to be. Maybe we should put our signs up in the neighborhood. Nah, just kidding, we don't care even though it gets a little nitpicking at times.
