Went to a presentation in the Trilogy ballroom by the Gilbert 'water' team last Thursday. They presented what Gilbert was doing now and what the plans are to control and reduce water usage in the Gilbert community. It was very informative and we will participate in the programs they offer. We bought and installed a 'smart' irrigation controller which automatically adjusts watering schedules depending on seasons as well as past and current weather conditions. It also can be controlled from our phones. A Gilbert program has reimbursed us for the cost of the unit. I have programmed the unit but have also requested a member of the Gilbert water conservation team to come out and review our irrigation system and the watering schedule. They will come on 9/10 and I am looking forward to the help since we are not really familiar with the desert environment. We also had the neighbors over for a get-together last Saturday and it was good to spend time with them even though we have many over-the-fence chats.
