70th Birthday
Mike has been in Mt. Dora for a couple of days and he picked Jeff up at the airport last night and they arrived here to celebrate my 70th birthday. They arrived before 8 so we all took a golf cart ride down to Brownwood to see Scooter the DJ and then back home to plan (sort'a) their visit. This morning we all went out and played pickleball and platform tennis, then off to the pool to cool off and relax. The boys took me to a birthday lunch at the World of Beer in Brownwood and we had a great time tasting beers and eating. It was a wonderful time. Alesa elected not to go because she wanted me to have time with the boys and she had some shopping and preparing to do. So we did some additional golf cart touring while she finished up. We then went back to the pool for some additional cooling off. Jeff grilled some steaks and I made air fryer french fries while Alesa prepared the rest of the meal. The meal was great and Alesa had made a 'Candy Box' cake for my birthday filled with my favorite candies. But, we were so full after the meal that we decided to save the cake for tomorrow when Craig and Janet would be here. It was the best birthday ever! I tracked the boys' flights down on 'Flight Aware' and Jeff's flight was diverted to the west due to thunderstorms on the coast so he flew right over the house and I was able to get a picture of his plane. BTW: Jeff had taken Bailey for his driver's test yesterday morning. Bailey passed so now we have two more drivers in the family since Elyse had passed her test a month or so ago.
