To Hamburg
Another big breakfast and then off to the train station to catch our train to Hamburg. Rather than taking a local bus we decided to walk to the closest hop on/hop off stop for a ride to the station. They don't start running until 9 but we decided to head out early. We got to the cool and windy stop at 9 and expected a bus by 9:30 but at 9:45 it started to rain. Luckily the rain was light and ended after 10 minutes but it was still windy. At 10 we gave up on the bus and decided to take the 30 minute walk to the station so we loaded up our packs and headed out. At the first light I looked back and here comes the bus. We got our ride but A was not happy. We caught our train to Hamburg. About half way there we hit the southern border of Denmark and the train drove onto a ferry. We had to get off the train and head upstairs for more tax free shopping, snack bars and great views in a waterway between the North and the Baltic Seas. After a passport check in Germany and some time to fix a radio control problem we were again on our way. We have a very nice hotel right across the street from the train station. After checking in we went back to the station but it was way too crowded because it's also a mall. We ate some wurst and potato salad and came back to the room.
