Back to Golf

July 13, 2025

Last time I golfed was November 2023 just before we moved from The Villages. Moving in kept us very busy for a while. Alesa did golf once since we moved but not since because of her shoulder and surgery and I have not because of my leg and surgery. Today we both golfed 18 holes with Jeff on the Power Ranch-Trilogy course. We were both surprised by how well we did given the long layoff and our surgeries. It was a hot day but we kept well hydrated. The back nine was a little tougher as we tired. It was a great day and many thanks to Jeff for getting us out. We now see a lot of golf in our futures. By the way, In the Strava picture of our round, our house is identified by a red arrow just right of the lower part of the course and Jeff's house is marked by the blue arrow towards the lower left of the picture by the blue boxes of the water recycling ponds. (Actually, a little below the arrow but close enough.) The second picture is a damaged distance sensor from our Santa Fe. Towards the end of our road trip we kept getting an error for a driver assist function. The problem wasn't solved during the regular check-up so I took it back for them to diagnose the problem. What they found after a day or two was a dent in one of the front sensors which was caused by a rock or other projectile kicked up off the road. Problem solved by replacing the sensor at $90 for the part and $200 for the labor as they had to partially remove the front bumper. Not covered by warranty.
