Rocks and sinks

July 22, 2025

During our recent road trip Alesa gathered rocks; some from the peninsula in Erie, some from Maine (GLS & Jasper Beach) and even one from Ministers Island in Canada. She had a plan to build a cairn or add to the waterfall by our pool. She has now done both, the cairn is looking for a home but is resting by the pool for now. A large Maine rock has now been added to our waterfall. A big red arrow points it out in the picture. On other projects, Alesa has not liked her sink or faucet in our bathroom since her sink is stained and worn and the faucet too bulky. We bought her a new sink and faucet to her liking and I just installed both. Since the faucets no longer matched I also replaced the one on my sink to match her new one. The sink pictures are of her new sink, my new faucet and the guest bathroom which still has the old configuration. I also installed heat control window film on the window by Alesa's sink and we finally installed a pull-down shade for the small window just above our shower. The morning sun had been shining through and lighting up the bedroom earlier than one would like. It would have been easy to just close the door but for some odd reason Arizona homes do not have doors between the bathroom and the master bedroom but they do have doors between the closet and the bathroom. Having turned up the drip irrigation to deal with the summer heat we are busy digging in rocky soil to patch newly discovered leaks in the system. Hard to get to but easily patchable. We also sift the dug-up earth to separate the rocks from the dirt so we can bury the lines in soil and put the rocks on the top.
