PBS and estate planning

March 15, 2026

On Wednesday we went to the PBS station in downtown Phoenix to attend a 'Getting Your Ducks in a Row' presentation followed by a tour of the station. The station is located in the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism, part of Arizona State University. AZU is on spring break so the area was not crowded with students. The presentation was about estate planning and dealt mostly with its pitfalls. It also addressed leaving a legacy to the PBS station (and other charities). The presenter was very good and very animated and she kept the audience engaged and awake by awarding each question and comment with a two-dollar bill. She gave out plenty. It has prompted us to review our trust with a local lawyer as it was written in Florida and we have some changes. Bailey has a high school friend (Mike) visiting from Pennsylvania so Jeff, Bailey, Mike and I golfed 18 holes on Thursday here at Trilogy. I played from the front tees but was still pretty tired at the end. Afterwards, Dani and Nikki joined us all for a nice dinner which Alesa prepared. After dinner the ladies went home and the boys headed off to the Trilogy hot tub. Beware the Ides of March and hope you enjoyed your Pi (π) day yesterday.
