We brought the girls back with us to Jeff's this morning and Mike & Lisa will come over tomorrow for the Christmas celebration which we always do on Christmas eve. Today we decorated cookies, did a lot of prep for Christmas eve, played games and just played.
Trip Log
After the girls got home from swimming practice Alesa broke out her new art set and they all drew/painted pictures. After dinner they played 'Exploding Kitty' which was great fun.
Today we went to lunch at Ryans pub in Manayunk with Mike and Lisa. Mike works in Manayunk and Lisa had off so we all met for lunch. We then headed over to Mike's to spend the night.
Left around 8 AM Monday morning, spent the night in Lumberton, NC and arrived at Jeff's before 3 on Tuesday afternoon. Had great weather with no traffic problems, heavy but moving. Have been spending our time here shopping for Christmas meals, playing games and updating my phone.
Headed up to Lake Sumter Landing town center tonight to see the Blues Brothers show. It was a good show and we connected with some friends, watched the space station fly over and left early because we are driving out early tomorrow morning for Pennsylvania for Christmas.
For a few days, the Villages Model Train Club is displaying multiple layouts at the Colony Cottage Recreation Center. While Alesa was working on Christmas cookies and has absolutely no interest in model trains, I took the golf cart up and toured their displays.
Today is Alesa's birthday and she was greeted this morning by Olaf, the 'Frozen' snowman, on the counter sitting on her present. She has been talking about trying watercolors and has tried to sign up for courses, but, alas, there are none at the present time.
Tonight was the Erie Club Christmas Party. We usually take December off from meetings since many people head back home for Christmas or are busy with other parties. The club is growing and a quick poll during last month's meeting showed a number of people interested.
The frost has been on the pumpkin (or papaya) but the sun comes out and warms things up a bit, usually into the 60s or 70s. Jeff flew into Orlando on Monday and arrived here around 2. We had a 3:44 tee time at Bacall and were joined by a local (Jim) to round out the foursome.
Snowing in Philadelphia, Jeff said they have 3 inches. Been busy and the weather is getting cooler here. Jeans and a long sleeve shirt today. Even freeze warnings tonight. Read that green papaya is better for you than ripe papaya so I have been picking and trying them different ways.
