Last night we had a Chinese dinner and Bridget made sushi followed by a round of Chinese checkers and Christmas shows. Today Alesa, Jeff and I went to the King of Prussia mall. We haven't been there for a few years and were impressed by the changes they made.
Trip Log
Today we met Bob & Ann Goodman and Mike & Linda Holden at the Devon train station and took the train into Philadelphia. We got off at Jefferson Station and walked to South Street then over to the Italian market.
Last night the six of us played chinese checkers at Jeff's. Today the ladies made and decorated cookies and then Alesa, Bridget and I went to Mike's. Mike and I watched the Eagles lose while the ladies played scattergories.
Packed the car on Thursday morning and left around 7 and arrived at the Lumberton, NC Country Inn and Suites around 3:30. We were surprised by all the trees still down in South Carolina.
Today, Alesa went to a Christmas luncheon with the ladies of the neighborhood while I golfed with Mike from across the street.
Getting ready for our Holiday trip north and keeping busy with parties and our normal activities. Alesa was especially busy baking Christmas cookies. Craig and Janet were here today for pickleball. It was cool and windy which makes the game interesting since it's played with a wiffleball.
The neighborhoods are all lit up for Christmas and we have toured some of the local ones. Tonight we went down to Brownwood to see Johnny Dee and the Starlighters and treated ourselves to a bucket of French fries at 5 guys.
We are all home safe this evening after a wonderful week together. We left around 9 this morning and except for some stop-and-go on I-85 north of Atlanta and high volume here and there it was a smooth ride home. We got home around 6:15, Mike around 8:15 and the Abbates around 9.
Another beautiful day. Everyone got up late and began eating leftovers. Chinese checkers, reading and the great outdoors are on the agenda. Mike took 3 of the young adults on a 4 hour 'adventure' around the mountain. Alesa and I took a 2 hour hike to the top of the mountain through the woods.
A little rain last night but not enough to put out the fires but am sure it will help the firefighters south of here a little. Watched parades and the first football game while the ladies fixed dinner. Between games we ate, took a short hike and then back to watch the games and movies.
