Trip Log
Dave and Kate arrived from Lakeland around noon yesterday and after lunch we borrowed the neighbor's 4 seater and the 6 of us took a long golf car ride to the Rohan Rec center and played pickleball and platform tennis.
Alesa's brother, Dave and his wife Kate flew into Orlando on Thursday and hosted a family dinner at the Garden Bistro in Lakeland. All the Florida 'Niebauers' were there.
Tonight was Smith's hot dog night at the Erie Club meeting. We had an unbelievable crowd of 160 people, biggest ever and we had to scramble to fit them all in.. We have the dogs shipped down and grill them in the parking lot and people enjoy and socialize.
It's been mostly cold and windy and sometimes wet over the last couple of weeks. Tonight we went up to the Mardi Gras celebration at Lake Sumter landing, walked around the square and watched some of the groups. It was a good time but a little windy and cool.
Ordered a custom pad for the bench. Put on temporary pads and moved the bench inside to try various configurations. Last week we had all of the 15 amp breakers trip so I contacted SECO ( our local power company) and they directed us to the village's warranty department.
The bed Alesa had when she was small has been kicking around the Niebauer family and finally ended up in our attic.
Was supposed to golf on a championship course this afternoon but the rain kept us away so we headed off to the 'The World of Beer" in Brownwood to use one of our Christmas presents. Yes, that is a giant pretzel hanging there.
Sunday, our usual neighbor golfing day, was cold, wet and windy and we all headed out but the neighbors turned around half way there and I turned around and brought Alesa home shortly thereafter.
Last night was the January Erie Club meeting and we had quite a turnout. Expecting 90 and got about 120 and had to put up extra tables. It was horse racing night and we served pizza and salad. We only had a half a pizza left of 25 pies. Alesa brought that home, she loves Hungry Howies pizzas.
