Trip Log

November 13, 2023

In addition to all the packing, staging and prep work we spent the day at Craig and Janet’s on Wednesday the 1st. Had dinner with the Stones on Thursday and with the Fales on Saturday. On Tuesday, a mobile notary came to the house for us to sign all the paperwork for the Arizona closing.

Yesterday was the last day of Sunday Golf here in the Villages. We have golfed every Sunday with the same group since we arrived except when we were travelling.

We have sold our house so things have been very hectic around here. We received an offer on the first of October. After back-and-forth negotiations, we settled on a deal at a fair price and we had moved the requested closing date back to December.

September 30, 2023

Open houses, showings, doctor appointments and golf have filled up the second half of September. Open houses are for two hours and we need to be out of the house. During one of the open houses we took Mike out to lunch at Ski Beach. He has been singing its praises and we have not been.

Left early Monday morning for a six-hour drive to Lorton. The weather and traffic was fine and arrived in plenty of time. It was a good ride and we arrived in Sanford on time. We had only a 40-minute wait for our car and an uneventful ride and arrived home just before noon.

September 10, 2023

Drove to Erie on Wednesday after breakfast and a nice visit with Elyse. We stayed with Bob and Cathy which is very convenient and lets us spend more time with them. We had a chance to visit the dock and drive around the Peninsula.

September 5, 2023

After the morning with Mike, we drove to State College and checked into our motel. Elyse is starting a new job shortly as a community planner for Centre County. She is happy because this was her major/degree at Penn State.

September 4, 2023

Annika left last night because she had to work at the casino today. She is a pastry chef. Mike took us out to his farm for a picnic. After eating and a rest we picked apples, plums and pears from his orchard.

September 3, 2023

After breakfast at the Steel City Coffeehouse and Brewery (our go-to breakfast location) with Mike and Annika we drove out to the Wharton Esherick Museum in Malvern just outside Valley Forge Park. Mike had purchased tickets for a tour of the museum.

September 2, 2023

Before the trip our time was spent with showings and open houses. We both had doctors' appointments since our blood sugar levels were high, probably due to all the sweets during the holidays. We are both back to normal now.
