Camp NanaPapa day 1. Since we have an olympic theme we all spent the night watching the Olympics while the kids settled in and set things up to their liking.
Trip Log
Tomorrow is the start of Camp NanaPapa, our annual week with all four grandkids. Bailey and Bridget came over at lunchtime and Elyse and Annika at dinner. I have been busy trying to repair the laptop.
We left GLS this morning via the back roads and the Maine Woods spit us out on the pavement of the Airline at 8AM. The traffic was good and the trip uneventful so we arrived home just before 7PM.
Our last full day here. Steve guided a couple (Regis and Caroline Lepage) from the weekend this morning and I was on the stream for the last time. They had a great day on the lake and brought home a bass or two for lunch.
Sunday in Grand Lake Stream is very relaxing. Many of the group are leaving today so things are kind of winding down.
Today started early with a trip up-lake (by car) for a "Guide's" breakfast for all 18 of us at Art and Sally's and then we drove into town (Princeton) for some groceries. We then went to the GLS Folk Art festival to enjoy the music and visit the vendors.
Six couples arrived in town today in addition to the three already here for Steve and Laura's group get together for the GLS Folk Art Festival. We did some fishing on the stream and on the lake and caught up.
Spent the morning doing chores while Steve guided and the girls cleaned the house getting ready for the folk arts weekend when they will be getting a lot of company. I went fishing in the stream and caught a good size salmon and a couple of small bass.
Spent an hour on the stream today sharing it with some baby ducks. Steve was guiding and the girls were running errands. This afternoon we all played nine holes at St. Croix. It is a nice course on the river south of Calais and we try to play it every time we come up here.
Steve and Laura hosted a dinner party this evening featuring fresh Maine lobster and corn roasted on their new barbecue. The party was for six couples and the food and company were excellent.
