October 12, 2014

It is starting to get more crowded down here as another winter season begins. We joined a platform tennis league and we have games every Tuesday and Thursday. The first Erie Club meeting of the season was last Thursday and we had ox roast, brought from Erie, and music by 'Ron the Music Man'.

September 30, 2014

Have been running a games group on Monday morning for the last 26 weeks and yesterday were the last games of the summer season and we had a party at the new Manatee Rec Center last night. We start the winter season on Monday.

It is fall and the days are beginning to stay below 90 degrees. Everyday looks like rain but it only rains about every 3rd day, then usually less than a quarter of an inch. Last week the cape had a couple of launches.

Alesa and I are chairing a committee for the 'This Boat Rocks' dragon boat club to provide Christmas gifts for the 200 or so students at the Lake Hills School. It is a special needs school run by Lake county public school system in Howie-in-the-Hills.

Spent Thursday just recovering from our trip, Friday shopping for food, troubleshooting Alesa's new phone @ Best Buy (got a new battery under the Geek Squad protection plan)and we played a bit of platform tennis but got chased out by the lightning.

Left Maine around 7AM on Monday morning, shopped at LLBean and arrived at Mike's around 8PM. We spent the night and accompanied Annika on a tour of her new Junior High then took her to lunch.

August 24, 2014

Today was our last full day in Maine. We will leave early tomorrow morning, stop at LL Bean and arrive at Mike's, hopefully, before 8PM. This morning we went on a forage walk sponsored by the land trust. We hiked through the Maine woods and learned about edible plants.

August 23, 2014

This morning we went over to Art and Sally's for brunch with Gretchen (Laura and Steve's daughter) and her girls. After that, we drove over to Lincoln to golf nine holes at JATO with a good view of Mt. Katahdin. We walked the course so we are all now very tired.

August 22, 2014

Steve guided again today and Mike and family left for St. Stephens, Canada then to Bangor on the way to Providence and home. Laura, Alesa, Ingrid and I drove to St. Andrews, Canada on the Bay of Fundy to tour, shop and lunch. We came back to the U.S. by way of St.

August 21, 2014

Steve guided today and Lisa and the girls went to a class where they hiked into the woods and learned how to make survival shelters while I fly fished, Laura and Alesa walked and Mike chopped wood. In the afternoon Mike and girls tubed the stream while Lisa and I went fly fishing below the dam.
