This morning, Alesa and Laura drove to Eastport for lobster and clams and to buy a case of Raye's mustard. Elyse, Annika and I went into the Maine woods to shoot my pistol and on the way back we picked blackberries by the side of the road.
Trip Log
Monday, Steve and I went out on his "Grand Laker" to Third Machias Lake and fished for white perch. We were interrupted by some bass and pickerel but still caught quite a few perch. While we were cleaning them, Mike and family arrived.
Today is our first full day in Maine. Alesa and Laura hiked while Steve and I fished on West Grand Lake. It was cool and rainy but a comfortable day after all of the Florida heat. I caught a few bass while Steve caught some bass and a large togue (lake trout).
Spent a great time in Erie at Bob and Cathy’s. Drove around the peninsula, visited with Art & Annie, golfed at Crab Apple Ridge with Bob and ate dinner at Valerio’s on Thursday.
Arrived in Erie last night and are staying at Bob's for 3 nights. Went to 53 degrees last night. After breakfast we went to the Peninsula where it was quite cold and windy.
Jeff took his family school shopping yesterday and we took the girls to Cabela's in Delaware then home. Mike and Lisa came home in evening from the music-fest and fixed a nice dinner. Mike bought a zero-gravity chair at the music-fest se we helped install it in their living room.
Yesterday was a Busy Day which included a jam session with Alesa on the Uke, me on the guitar, Jeff on the bass and Bailey on the drums.
Bridget and I stayed home yesterday while Alesa & Bailey went to pick up Elyse and Annika. Bridget had some reading to do and the car only seats 5. When they got back and Jeff came home early from work, we all went bowling and after dinner I took the kiddos to DQ.
We had another great few days with Craig and Janet when they stopped on their way back home from Ripley. We played pickleball, platform tennis and swam to relieve the heat and wore each other out. They even took a paddle lesson with us.
Getting ready to head north. Can't wait! Had our home inspection today to make sure we take full advantage of our warranty. No problems, just cosmetic stuff. Now we have to coordinate the work. Played 18 at Mallory Hill Country Club yesterday, we prefer to pay 9 in this heat.
