Yeah, I know I'm a day late but ran out of time, a common occurrence lately. There were two new golf courses opened here in October and we golfed one on Monday and the other one yesterday. Alesa believes she had the best round of her life yesterday.
Trip Log
Tonight we went with Paul and Carol to Olive Garden. Paul and I received free dinners and the ladies got 10% off for veterans' day. Saturday, John and Donna came with their granddaughter Lilly and Pat and Tracy also came from Pat JR's race and Ann Marie's games in northern Florida.
Last night we went to dinner and then to see 'Last Vegas' with neighbors. A great time and the movie was very good. I especially liked how the 'older' audience of The Villages appreciated the 'geriatric' humor. I am not sure the younger audiences will get it.
Tuesday I golfed with some Villagers from Erie and then Steve & Laura and Greg & Cindy Foster came for a visit. The Fosters stayed Tuesday and Wednesday night and we all took the grand Villages tour on golf cars.
We have seen alligators but this is the first one we have seen since moving here. It was down on the pond by Brownwood, for those who have been here. Tim, our financial guy, came for a visit on Saturday.
We are busy with golfing, Dragon boating, driveway parties, neighborhood pot luck dinner, flu shots and shopping. We got a new TV for our bedroom and a new sleeper couch for the office. Tomorrow Alesa is getting a new set of custom clubs.
Forgot to mention that we got our names on our golf cart the other day. It's more of a courtesy to the other residents because you meet so many people it's hard to remember names and since everybody drives golf carts it like wearing name tags. (No!
Mike and family came for a visit and yesterday was his birthday. They went to the Eagles-Bucs game on Sunday with their friends, the Abbates from Mt. Dora and they all came over here afterwards.
Tracy's daughter Toni was married to Gordon Erndt this evening in St. Petersburg with a reception at the Post Card Inn in St. Pete's Beach. Since it's less than 100 miles we drove down and back the same day. All of Alesa's siblings were there less Dave.
We continue to try and golf all the courses but are busy with a lot of other activities as well. We bought a lawnmower yesterday and on the way home bought a sleeper sofa at a thrift store. They will deliver it tomorrow. I mowed the lawn before a much needed rain hit.
