Our new furniture came yesterday so we are getting closer, to what I don't know. We got a double reclining couch and a reclining chair and my old recliner is in the guest bedroom.
Trip Log
Yesterday, Alesa went dragon boating and had a great time while I stayed home, visited with all the neighbors and installed donuts around 10 of the sprinkler heads of our irrigation system. Today we bought 34 more and hopefully I can get them installed in the next few days.
Wednesday we a attended a 'new residents' welcome session where various service organizations set up end explained their services. Thursday we drove down to Orlando to shop at Ikea and the Premium Outlets. We drove down International Drive then by Disney before heading home through Claremont.
Monday we were trained on our heating/air conditioning system and then they sent someone over to get rid of the hum created in the return air vent in our bedroom. When he got here and we asked "Why does it hum?", he said "Because it doesn't know the words". But, he fixed it anyway.
Yesterday we drove down to Zack and Cathy's (60 miles) for Jamie's first birthday party. Many relatives were there so we had a good chance to visit, afterwards Craig and Janet followed us home and spent the night.
Today we went back to the driving range to practice our short game. Alesa & Carol went off to Dragon boats and Paul & I followed in the golf car, ate peanuts and had a couple of beers at Cody's while we watched them work.
Alesa went shopping today, the first time on her own so she is now comfortable navigating. I picked up a screw in the rear tire of the Harley the other day so I fixed that then rode to the trailer to pick up some forgotten items then took the golf cart to the Colony Plaza for a haircut.
Today was the first chance we had to do some free golfing, we were paired with Pete and Patty and had a great time. We were quite rusty to begin but came around. Yesterday we went to the driving range and then to the putting and chipping area but it didn't seem to do any good.
Today Alesa went dragon boating with Carol and I went to happy hour with Paul at one of the many country clubs. I also went exploring on the motorcycle and the golf car then off to the pool to cool down and meet neighbors.
We have officially become villagers because today we bought a golf car. We have been truly busy for the last few days, unpacking, meeting neighbors, doing a little exploring, preparing our 'punch list' for the house and waiting for appointments as the 'fixers' come.
